Indian tourist visas: e-visa scheme extended to British travellers

India has finally opened up its e-visa system to UK passport holders, in an attempt to boost tourism. From August 15, Britons are one of 113 nationalities who will be able to apply for India's "e-Tourist visa". UK passport holders will be able to apply and pay for an online visa using the Indian government's tourist visa website - https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html



Royal Orchid adds two hotels under Regenta brand in Kolkata & Haridwar

Royal Orchid Hotels Limited (ROHL) has announced the opening of two hotels under its upscale brand, Regenta in Haridwar and Kolkata. Regenta Orko's Haridwar is the first property from the group in the pilgrim city of North India. The hotel is located on the Haridwar-Rishikesh highway. The facilities at the property offers include an on-site spa, a fitness centre, dining outlets, and a well-stocked library. It offers free high-speed Internet connectivity with a combined banquet space of 4,800 sq ft for business meetings and social engagements, as per a release.

Regenta Orko's Kolkata offers standard rooms, club twin rooms, club rooms, and a suite. The hotel has a total of over 3,500 sq ft banquet space for various occasions, a pool-side lounge on the rooftop, and an all-day dining restaurant.




IndiGo enhances connectivity with 9 new flights on its domestic network

Effective September 1, 2015 IndiGo has introduced its 1st daily flight from Varanasi to Goa (via Mumbai), 1st daily non-stop flight between Kolkata and Varanasi, 2nd daily flight from Bengaluru to Varanasi (via Kolkata), 2nd daily non-stop flight between Varanasi and Mumbai, 2nd daily non-stop flight from Ahmedabad to Pune, 5th daily non-stop flight from Delhi to Pune, 6th daily non-stop flight from Mumbai to Goa, 7th daily non-stop flight from Bengaluru to Kolkata and 8th daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Lucknow. The carrier plans to enhance its customer experience in the domestic market with the launch of these 9 new flights.



Tiger Air to commence Lucknow-Singapore non-stop flights from December 3, 2015

Tiger Air, a leading Singapore-based budget carrier recently announced its special inaugural fares starting from Rs 11,999 inclusive of taxes on its new non-stop flights from Singapore to Lucknow from September 1-13, 2015, for travel from December 3, 2015 to March 31, 2016. Operating three days a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday through Singapore, Tiger Air's new flight is the only scheduled non-stop service between Singapore and Lucknow. Tiger Air flight TR 2676 will depart from Singapore at 1730 hours and reach Lucknow at 2000 hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Return flight TR 2677 from Lucknow will fly at 2100 hours and reach Singapore at 0435 hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
