Wildflower Hall, Shimla

The 'Queen of Hills' as Shimla was rechristened by the British during colonial days became the summer capital of the British Raj during the latter half of the 19th century when the soldiers of the British army, merchants and civil servants moved up here for some respite from the scorching summer heat of the plains. The city boasts of its Victorian architecture, reflected in certain areas on the Mall road and the inimitable Ridge.
