Mr. Anil Bhakuni from Tappas Voyages visited Mysore Palace, Katnataka.

Mysore Palace is one of the largest and most spectacular palaces in the country. It is also one of the most visited monuments in India. The palace was initially built by the Wodeyar kings in the 14th century. Unfortunately the palace got burnt down in 1897 during a royal wedding. The current palace construction was commissioned in 1897 and was completed by 1912. This Palace was the residence of the Wodeyar Maharaja of Mysore state. It is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara Festival, during which leading artists perform on a stage set up in the palace grounds. On the tenth day of the festival Vijaya Dashami, a parade with caparisoned elephants and other floats originate from the palace grounds. The palace houses a collection of exquisite carvings and works of art from all over the world.
