Two 5-star Novotel Resorts open in North Goa

Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort and Novotel Goa Shrem have been rebranded as Novotel Goa Resorts & Spa to firmly position a consolidated premium Novotel presence for travellers & explorers of Goa. The two 5-star Novotel properties are located just off the bustling street of Candolim in North Goa, as per a release.

The two Novotel properties include 7 bars and restaurants, unique five star experiences, a massive kids club with fun activities, 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting & banquet spaces, the La Brise seaside restaurant on Candolim beach, all as part of a 271 room experience under the Novotel brand. Rest & relaxation reigns at these two properties in Go as they offer a comforting spa, says the release. The resort's lobby is now equipped with Novotel signature Play Table (a 360-degree digital experience), an easy work corner, a new Deli shop, a gaming zone, and Apple I Mac computers in the lobby. The resort is also upgrading its suites, and adding an additional Italian-Mediterranean restaurant – Vera Cibo to their Food and Beverage services.

Appreciating the needs of today's business travellers, the Novotel Goa Resorts & Spa has a business centre, three board rooms and four meeting rooms which are equipped with the latest audio-visual and communication technology according to the release. India's Fastest Train GATIMAN EXPRESS flags off on 5th April 2016

Targeting tourists, Nizamuddin-Agra Gatiman Express, the first semi-high speed service in railways, will run at a speed of 160 kmph and is expected to cover the 200 km distance in 100 minutes. The 12050 Nizamuddin - Agra - Nizamuddin Gatiman Express will run six days a week except Friday on both directions. According to the schedule, the train will start journey from Nizamuddin at 8.10 AM to reach Agra at 9.50 AM. In the return direction, the Gatiman Express will depart from Agra at 5.50 PM to reach Nizamuddin at 7.30 PM.

Equipped with a 5,400 HP electric locomotive, the train will have two Executive AC Chair Car and eight AC Chair Car coaches. According to railways, the Gatiman will have best possible services matching the flight services in catering. Since the fare will be 25 per cent higher than Shatabdi Express, catering services in Gatiman Express will also be better.




ASI proposes to increase entry Fee for ASI Monuments

Entrance Fee to 116 key historical monuments under ASI across the country, including the Red Fort, Qutab Minar and Ajanta-Ellora caves, has revised.

Archaeological Survey of India has proposed to increase the entry fee for all the ASI monuments. It is proposed to increase the entry fee for the foreign tourists as per following:-

- For Category B Monuments, there will be increase from Rs. 100/- to Rs. 200/- only. However, a Premium ticket will be introduced of Rs. 300/- with some value additions.

- Similarly for Category A monuments, there will be increase from Rs. 250/- to Rs. 500/- only whereas the Premium ticket will cost Rs. 750/- with similar value additions.

- The above new rates will be effective from 1st April 2016.

- As assured by the Hon'ble Minister, at all the ASI monuments, by 15th of April 2016, there will be a separate counter and queue to enter at all the ASI monuments for those having ticket in category A of Rs. 500 and above and in category B of Rs. 200 and above.

- Some other facilities include clean toilets and some fast food outlets to be introduced on PPP model.
